Support Staff Early Childhood Teacher
Location: UWEC Children's Nature Academy (Eau Claire)
Description: The Support Staff Early Childhood Teacher assists lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This role helps maintain daily routines, supports classroom management, and ensures children’s needs are met throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with supervision of children at all times (indoors and outdoors)
- Support daily routines including meals, naps, toileting, and transitions
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
- Follow health and safety procedures, including handwashing and sanitation
- Engage with children through play, conversation, and activities
- Support positive behavior guidance strategies
- Communicate respectfully with children, families, and staff
- Step into different classrooms as needed
Required Skills:
- Must meet state licensing requirements for child care staff
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- A minimum of a AA degree in Early Childhood is preferred
