The Strengthening Families initiative is a strength-based approach to preventing child abuse and neglect. Strengthening Families is a Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) initiative that looks at the evidence to find out what family strengths really reduce child abuse and neglect. This training makes the connections between the family strengths that prevent child abuse and neglect and the strategies that quality early childhood programs can use to build them up.
· Learn about the five family strengths that strengthen family function
· Identify three next steps to build family strengths in early care and education settings
· Understand how to obtain and use Strengthening Families resources
